More efficiency and performance
In order to improve machine efficiency and performance, Penha will make a complete adjustment of its PM1 Press Section.
Following a detailed survey of existing facilities and customer needs, Hergen’s Engineering department has carefully studied the best ways to achieve the desired objectives, in the most cost-effective manner possible.
As one of the main objectives is to reduce losses with sheet breaks and thus increase the machine efficiency, the project envisages a closed sheet transfer from the Fourdrinier to the Drying Section. For this, there will be installed Sheet Stabilizer Boxes between 1st / 2nd Press and 2nd Press / Baby Dryer.
Almost all Press Section Rolls, including Press Rolls and Pick-up Rolls, will be utilized. Elements of current felt conditioning will also be used. The structures in general will be totally new ones.
In addition to changes in the Press Section, improvements will be made to the entry of the first dryer group, such as the installation of a Baby Dryer Cylinder.
The project also foresees modifications in the drive and in the Press-Pit tank.
