HERGEN has successfully completed the supply and installation of a new Hood in the Drying Section of SWM's, located in Barra do Piraí – Rio de Janeiro state.
The main target of the installation was to reduce steam consumption, and the initial results have already shown success: the machine is operating with a significant reduction in steam consumption, even when its production speed has increased.
This improvement not only brings economic benefits, but also contributes to environmental sustainability. The reduction in steam consumption means a reduction in the demand for fossil fuels used to generate steam, which in turn results in a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The new Hood supplied by HERGEN offers customers a significant step forward in minimizing their environmental impact, helping them to align with cleaner and more sustainable production practices.
Paper width: 4.080 mm
Hood width: 8.226 mm
The Hood supplied by HERGEN is a closed type, designed with lifting doors on the tending side and sliding doors on the drive side.
To ensure maximum operator safety, the lift doors are equipped with mechanical stops to prevent them from accidentally fall and anti-crushing devices, which prevent the risk of accidents during operation. This solution was developed with a focus on protecting employees and ensuring a safer and more efficient working environment.
HERGEN Hoods stand out for their excellent finishing standard and have been carefully designed to offer maximum efficiency, safety and practicality in both installation and maintenance. Constructed with thermal insulating panels, which are stiff, light and non-flammable, they have a steel cladding and a heat transmission coefficient of 0.44 W/m².k, surpassing the traditional models available on the market.
One of the great advantages of HERGEN Hoods is the modularity of their panels, for both roof and sidewalls, which are removable, significantly improving the maintenance and access for any adjustments. This modularity allows a quick and effective adaptations, as well as ensuring greater flexibility during operation.
In addition, the panels are prefabricated at HERGEN, which offers several benefits: a significant reduction in the amount of labor required for assembly, less downtime and, consequently, faster installation and quicker return to regular production. Prefabrication also ensures stricter quality control, resulting in a final product with greater reliability and durability.
