HERGEN has entered a strategic partnership with one of the world's largest producers of packaging paper, consolidating its presence among the leading global suppliers of technology for the paper industry.

The contract provides for the supply of a new generation SMART FLOW Precision Headbox, equipped with an advanced dilution basis weight control system, which ensures uniform formation and extremely high precision cross-machine basis weight profile. The start-up of the new Headbox is scheduled for the first half of 2026, marking another important step for HERGEN in delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions that combine innovation, reliability, and industrial performance.

Innovation with precision

Developed from the successful iNOVAFLOW line, which has established hundreds of references in the domestic and international markets, SMART FLOW Precision represents a significant evolution in technology and construction design. Its 100% stainless steel structure ensures maximum resistance under high pressures and jet stability, even under critical operating conditions. The new generation also incorporates:

• Titanium apron lip (optional), which provide greater durability and flexibility..

• Linear displacement of the apron lip supporting frame, eliminating the use of a rod and increasing the adjustments precision.

• Manifold dilution system, which works with fast and uniform response.

• Edge Control, for stable fiber orientation and better sheet quality.

These innovations result in highly stable CD and MD profiles, as well as improved physical properties of the paper, such as tensile strength.

ECOPerformance: efficiency with purpose

This supply is aligned with the ECOPerformance program, an initiative by HERGEN within its Converge to the Future Sustainability Program, which brings together technological solutions aimed at optimizing inputs, reducing waste, and increasing operational safety.

Proven field results


SMART FLOW Precision has already proven its excellence in the first units delivered. In one of the applications, the Headbox was installed in a double-deckle machine equipped with an automated dilution system via manifold and Edge Control, achieving excellent stability and profile uniformity from start-up, a result that validates the quality and performance of this new generation of equipment.
